From the Frette sheets that envelope the beds, to the innovative cuisine, exceptional art works and magnificent trees and gardens, the Mayflower Inn & Spa is a creation that brings a wealth of talent, innovation and vision to the Mayflower experience.
The interiors of the Inn blend Colonial simplicity with the grace and luxury of a traditional English country manor. The Inn’s 21 rooms and nine suites are romantic retreats, individually appointed with lavish fabrics, canopy beds, Regency wall coverings, Tabriz rugs, fine antiques, and cozy fireplaces. Spacious marble bathrooms feature soaking tubs, steam showers and customized bath amenities. Fifteen rooms are located in the main building while the remaining accommodations are in three of the impeccably restored outer buildings.
The Mayflower’s sprawling 58 acres are filled with rare and beautiful trees and breathtaking gardens in the tradition of England’s finest landscape designers. The spectacular natural beauty is an integral part of the Mayflower experience. Guests can hike, cycle, ski, or snowshoe over the grounds and in the nearby Steeprock Reserve, one of New England’s most stunning nature preserves, or meditate in the private Shakespeare Garden before wandering through the playful American Poets Maze.

The Destination Spa was created as a holistic retreat that goes well beyond beauty treatments. Founded on harmony and well-being, the Spa emphasizes the importance of balance between mind and body and the demands of modern life and yearning for spiritual fulfillment. The Mayflower Spa offers a holistic approach incorporating yoga, Pilates, and a range of treatments or “rituals,” designed to purify, nourish, energize, and restore both physically and spiritually. Retreats and workshops are offered throughout the year as tools and strategies to minimize stress, quiet the mind and focus mental and physical energies.
From the beginning, The Mayflower Inn won high praise for its fine cuisine. With the advent of the Mayflower Spa, the kitchen developed a comprehensive Spa cuisine menu. Now, there is new emphasis on developing a singular, Connecticut regional cuisine drawing on the freshest ingredients available from the state’s coast and countryside. The Mayflower works closely with local organic farmers and seafood purveyors to create a dining experience that is authentic, imaginative and true to the Mayflower’s mission.
The Mayflower Spa is available as a Destination Spa on Sunday afternoon through Friday noon. Weekend guests of the Mayflower may access the Spa on weekends by either taking advantage of the Spa Plan or à la carte. Room rates are $450 – $700; suite rates from $700 – $1,400
